Our son, Preston, was diagnosed with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex in 1999 when he was seven months old. Three years later we decided that we needed to try to make a difference and started participating in a Stamp Out TS Letter Writing campaign through the TS Alliance. In 2004 our 7 year old daughter, Mackenzie, wanted to do something to help her brother so she decided to host a lemonade stand. Along with the help of three friends, Kelly, Shelby Mickey, the four girls raised $930.00! Each year the lemonade stand event has grown bigger and bigger and in 2009 our combined events raised $27,587.00! From 2002 through 2009 we raised over $138,000.00 with 100% of the proceeds going to the TS Alliance.
In 2010 we decided to take our event one step further and started up a non-profit named Peace, Love and Lemonade in hopes to get others, primarily children, to host lemonade stands, in order to take a stand and help raise awareness and funds for Tuberous Sclerosis Complex.
Through January 2013 we have raised over $221,196.00 for Tuberous Sclerosis Complex!
The proceeds from all of the events will be collected and will be used to benefit other 501c3 organizations that help those affected with Tuberous Sclerosis Complex.
The mission of Peace, Love Lemonade is to bring Peace to those affected by Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, through the Love of a family that is on the same journey, using Lemonade to help take a stand and raise awareness and funds for TSC!
